      What is Fissure?

An anal fissure is a tiny cut or tear in the anus lining. During and after bowel motions, the split in the skin produces considerable discomfort and occasional bright red blood. The fissure might sometimes be deep enough to reveal the muscular tissue beneath.

      FAQ's

Fissures are caused on the inner lining of the anus by trauma that affects the anus. Hard, dry bowel movements are commonly responsible for this. Chronic constipation or frequent diarrhoea can also cause the skin near the anus to be torn. Still, other possible causes include straining during bowel movements, childbirth, and a reduced flow of blood to the area of the anus.

Anal fissures can be either acute or chronic. Acute (recent onset) fissures may have the appearance of a simple tear in the anus. Chronic fissures, on the other hand, may have swelling and scar tissue present and may typically last for more than 8-12 weeks.

      • Pain, sometimes severe, during bowel movements.
      • Pain after bowel movements that can last up to several hours.
      • A visible crack in the skin around the anus.
      • A small lump or skin tag on the skin near the anal fissure

Laser surgery is considered the best surgical treatment for anal fissures. It’s an advanced daycare procedure that involves minimal to almost no pain or bleeding during the entire treatment process.

Laser treatment for fissures is highly sought after because of its advantages over traditional open surgery.

After surgery, most people can get back to their usual routine for 1 to 2 weeks. It will probably take 6 weeks for you to completely heal. Most people experience no problems recovering.
